In an age where it's so fucking over, we're so fucking back is always just around the corner. There's a spark to human creation that can't be mimicked efficiently or consistently over the long haul, you can see this with AI visual art even now. Some of the art AI produces is rather aesthetic, some of it I might just hang on my wall, but none of it resonates with me like say a singer-sargent piece, or even weebshit produced by mangaka. There's a divine element to human works that can't be removed or replaced, this holds true for all mediums even the written word.

I agree, and I want you to be right for as long as possible.

HUMAN FOREVER

We are reaching somewhere we can not see and do not understand. Most people will be fine with Fast and the Furious 23 being written by machines, possibly edited by some minimum wage grad student. There will be a section of the population that actively seeks out content created by humans, for a time.

I've felt for quiet some time that I was on the edge of this change. Of course, instead of sticking with my career, I chose to be an independent artist. I don't regret my decision. I like being challenged. I like do something a bit more difficult. And I'm excited to find others who are similarly driven to maintain some semblance of creative control in their life.

Thank you for the reminder that there are others in the dark who still want to play.

Thank you for the comment!

Something I forgot to add in more depth - I think there's something noble in resisting the onslaught of algorithmic art. Like some kind of "Last Samurai in the age of muskets" type of thing lol. Gotta mythologize yourself to maintain adequate & healthy levels of cope, to some extent.

I can relate to this creative isolation. I do worry a bit about being the "depressed artist" trope. This is mostly correctable through clarity. I do find pessimism about our future to be fairly realistic.

A G.M. Baker quote I often steal (that I discovered courtesy of Erik Hoel funny enough) is roughly "Art is a question: Do you see it too?"

I feel this reinforces your second point since only a human can actually see and experience things, and then render an interpretation of lived experience in any medium. So yea I'm coping right there with you but content with that answer.
