I’ve started a small solo podcast where I read through my blog posts and add some additional post-hoc commentary and context with the benefit of time and retrospective. In this episode, I discuss a broad theoretical overview of how the aesthetic Overton window is regulated by way of an emergent conformity consensus in elite literary institutions in America, arguing that our culture’s over-optimization for moral purity comes at the expense of aesthetic diversity in the kinds of novels that are able to achieve traditional publication.

The post referenced in this solo podcast can be read here.
