I haven't finished this yet but popping down here just to say if you ever end up in Australia (Sydney) we will for sure organise a reading for you to do! Would be awesome. I don't own a bookshop or anything but I am a natural born hustler (ha-ha) and spent my life in 'events' so we'll do something cool !!

Solenoid by Mircea Cartarescu is a pretty great example of that "dark beauty" - highly recommended. The ending of the novel, if a bit hurried, puts him in the category of writers who write against despair.
